There goes my tomato dream, is a book chronicling my grandma’s migration from Korea, to Shanghai, to Tokyo, to the US, and my grandfather’s (whom I’ve never met) paralleling journey from Cuba to the U.S. they both came to the U.S. in their 20s. Near the same age, I find myself questioning and journaling and capturing photos just like them. Throughout the unearthed family photos, I have scattered drawings and journalings of my own. Our journeys are so far apart in time, but this process definitely made me feel closer to them both respectively.

The process of scanning and creating a digital archive full of photos I had never before seen feels more important now, than ever.
